The mystery was kept pretty well until the Plan Z team released a sneak peek video on March 4, 2019, which gave Plan Z followers a look at the registration screen. Plan Z's finalized name was kept as a mystery for fans to figure out while the game was in development. The left image is likely a loading screen, while the right image depicts a server select screen if you brighten the image. These two images were posted on the project's official blog as development continued. With updates such as the game's theming being "futuristic adventure, though a mixture of themes" and using "Coins" as the main currency (while "Stars" would be the premium currency), the hype for Plan Z kept building up further and further. This new project showed promise as it seemed that it would be a spiritual successor to Fantage. The FL team decided to make a new project, which became known as "Plan Z". while it is true that not all hopes can be fulfilled, it is also true in Fantage Legacy's case that not all hope itself was lost. This single e-mail lead to the death of Fantage Legacy.Įnter Plan Z!However. On July 1, 2018, the official Fantage team contacted the FL team through e-mail that they were aware of their project and that they will issue copyright infringement threats towards them for using their assets. Unfortunately, not all hopes can be fulfilled. Their hope came in the form of Fantage Legacy, which not only promised to bring a private server with no premium membership, but also some quality-of-life improvements, such as the removal of MyMall and the game's infamously strict chat filter. Naturally, many Fantagians hoped that a private server of their beloved Fantastic Age would arise. This makes it so people can still play the game after the official server shuts down. So this has to be done.Īs many of you already know, Fantage Legacy was a made-by-fans-for-fans project that started soon after the 2008 kid-friendly massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Fantage announced that it would be closing down.Īfter Club Penguin shut down in 2017, many people made and flocked to private servers of the game, which essentially hosts a mirror of the original game on another server. I know, it seems a bit redundant to do this, but there are still people who don't know what even happened to Fantage Legacy to this day. and this time, I'll try to do this all in one journal instead of just linking back to our older coverage. Well, for the uninformed, it's time that we do a recap of the ill-fated "Fantage Legacy" once again. Get out your Star Café lattes and cookies, or whatever, because there's some big news to cover today.īut wait, hold on! Some of you are probably questioning what "Pixel Park" in the title is and why it's mentioned next to Plan Z! as more news related to previous topics we covered have come up. I'm also pretty sure many of you were not expecting yet another news blog entry coming out of a group related to a game that died out a year ago! But yet, here we are. I'm pretty sure some of you here are likely enjoying the Galar region from Pokémon Sword and Shield, which just released today for the Nintendo Switch.
